Quite the comical show as far I'm concerned. It's often the over-the-top nature of the "fabulous five" that makes the show all the more hilarious.

I personally am addicted to Queer Eye, and while they can be a little over-the-top, I find it makes for very funny and entertaining Television. Ted (Food & Wine) does seem to be the most grounded of the 5, but Carson just cracks me up (as does Kyan, Jai, and Thom) and so I watch more Bravo than any regular human should (add The West Wing to the mix and the channel never changes).

Well, of course they're over the top. It's television and they're characters. Who knows how flamboyant they are in real life--it may be that they're more-or-less the same or not, but probably a skosh more subdued than their on-screen personas in any case. But yes, the Food and Wine guy seems to have been given the role of straight (hah!) man. He also supplies you with food and/or alcohol and that has to be at least a +2 to likability.
