QotD: Bacon

Question: How do you like your bacon?

My Answer: Medium to pretty crispy. I don't like really greasy bacon. It just feels really, really unhealthy. Crispy bacon is almost like potato chips (which themselves feel really greasy and unhealthy).

  3. nice and crispy, but not greasy.. always leave it to rest a while on some paper towel to soak up some of the grease..

    the absolute best bacon i have ever tasted in my life i found in kitchener, on, ca.. peameal bacon, very similar to canadian bacon. its cured instead of smoked, and then rolled in corn meal. very tasty stuff 🙂

  4. One of the best ways I've found to cook bacon is to bake it!

    Place the bacon on a rack in a sheet-pan. Put it in a cold oven (do not preheat.) Set the oven temperature to 350 and cook for about 25 minutes or until the desired crispness is reached.

    I usually place some aluminum foil under the bacon to catch all the drippings so I don't have to clean the pan.

    The bacon will cook much more evenly in the oven and if you start it in a cold oven, it won't curl up on you like it tends to do when you pan fry it.

  5. Cold, straight out of the package. Chewy like squid, but greasy too.
