We’ve never been a family that has purchased large gifts for each other. My mom’s birthday is the day after Christmas which must not have been great as a kid. I bought mom a DVD player for her last birthday as a Christmas/birthday present....

I got her a hand soap dispenser that matches the set of china that I have been buying her piece by piece for the last 15 years. It's called Portmeirion's Botanical Gardens.
