Stupid Burn Warning

How about telling me how much stuff I need to remove (is it 2.4 MB or 200.4 MB?) next time, stupid Finder?!?!

The U.S. Women's Open began today at an awesome course - Pine Needles in Southern Pines, North Carolina. It's literally just down the road from the famed Pinehurst, but I'd call Pine Needles a far better course for the average or skilled player who isn't quite PGA Tour level - it has a little more […]

iPhone Rate Plans Online

Wow, not bad: http://www.apple.com/iphone/easysetup/rateplans.html. $59.99 for 450 minutes, unlimited data, 200 text messages, and 5000 night-and-weekend minutes? Not too shabby if you ask me. Too bad, again, there's no Cingular/AT&T stores near or in Erie, PA. I may have to investigate the options come November, though, when our third cell phone falls into month-to-month. It's […]

This song came up twice in a row in Party Shuffle mode. The exact same song (and the same file): Erik is listening to "Everlasting Love" by Howard Jones from the album "Cross That Line" (1989). Erik has rated this song 4.0 stars and last played this song Sunday, June 24, 2007 9:05:42 pm. I […]

Why, when you order steak - even if the waitress recognizes you as having been in several times before - must waiters/waitresses describe the way the meat will look after it's been cooked? Do people ever change their mind after hearing that medium-rare is a "warm, pink center" or that well-done is a "hot, brown […]

Your Menu Bar

Question: What's in your menu bar, from right to left? My Answer: I have a relatively simple menu bar. From right to left, I have the blue Spotlight magnifying glass, my shortname for fast user switching, the date and time (with the second showing), .Mac Sync, AirPort, FastScripts, and TypeIt4Me. That's it. You are encouraged […]

My family has always bought cars, used them until they've become "old" or "not worth it" anymore (about 8-10 years). Right now, with the 2005 Touareg and the 2001 Aztek, Carey and I are on an "eight-year plan" - get a new car every four years, use them for eight years, and trade them in. […]

Safari 3 Beta

I've just installed the Safari 3 beta (since Saft has been updated to work with it), and the one thing I've noticed already is that the scroll position is not restored on reload. Another bug/annoyance: if I enter text in an online forum and post it via the AJAX methods, then try to close the […]

Sunday at the U.S. Open

I sat in the same seat for 14 hours, arriving just past 5:00 in the morning. And it wasn't even the best spot! But it was pretty good, and my notes are here. It will be good to get back and see my family.

Saturday at the U.S. Open

This is the one post I won't just refer to The Sand Trap. 🙂 I didn't write anything Saturday there. I met my cousin at about 7:15 by the second green, and we watched 19 golfers go through the second hole. Masters champ Zach Johnson triple bogeyed after putting in a bunker to get to […]

Friday at the U.S. Open

I spent Friday at the U.S. Open (as I will every day this week except Wednesday) and my observations are here. Executive summary: Steve and I watched seven hours of golf at the first and ninth holes and we saw one birdie. One. Oh, and Phil Mickelson is a silly, whiny man.
