Don't get on WPXI for it.
I don't care about tradition. They should be able to do something like show the NBC feed on their high-def channel and the telethon on their standard analog channel or something.
I'm sure results are updated live on one of the many sports channels, perhaps even the Golf Channel.
Yes, I can follow along live online, but that's hardly the point. There's a big difference between seeing the score at the end of the day and seeing how it all goes down.
WBGN is a local Pgh channel and is shown on Comcast cable systems on one of those channels you pointed out in your post (3, 11, 14 or 21).
Yes, WBGN is showing golf, but DirecTV doesn't carry WBGN.
I don't know where you live but maybe an old-school antenna will pick up WICU in Erie or the Youngstown or Altoona affiliate?
Oddly, WICU is showing the freakin' Indians game. I can't pick up any other NBCs. :-P Pfffffft.

Don't get on WPXI for it. It's a tradition for them to carry the telethon.

I'm sure results are updated live on one of the many sports channels, perhaps even the Golf Channel. Or, I'm sure a restaurant/bar has DirecTV and has that on a channel.
