Potato Chips

I can't be the only person who enjoys a potato chip…

  • … on top of some pizzas.
  • … on burgers.
  • … on a hot dog.
  • … with ice cream, preferably chocolate.

Okay, maybe the last one, but I know enough people that eat them with the others. Are you one? What unusual combos do you make with potato chips?

      Hmm,

British so Potato Chips == (Potato) Crisps

Tortilla Chips with Jelly (preferably Strawberry)

Crisps crushed onto Egg Fried Rice (for flavour and curnchyness, preferably Cheese & Onion, Spring Onion, Prawn Cocktail or Salt & Vinegar flavours)

I can see the hotdog one, for the same reason I do it to Egg Fried Rice I guess, must try it sometime. (I like crisp onion in hotdogs)

but then I also like Heniz Salad Creme on top of Soda Bread, or Scotch Pancakes :)

I like potato chips with a burger or hot dog, but not on a burger or a hot dog. I don't care for chips with pizza or ice cream, but I can't say that I ever recall making a point to try it either.

But I do enjoy french fries dipped in a chocolate milkshake. Mmm mmm good.

I like to put potato chips inside my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The salt works well against the sweetness of the sandwich, and the additional texture makes for a much more interesting mouth feel. I haven't tried any of your combinations, but the chocolate ice cream one sounds like a winner. I do like cocktail peanuts on ice cream, so this isn't much of a stretch.

When I was a kid, I liked to put a layer of potato chips in my bologna sandwich. I do not really care for bologna anymore, but every now and then I will get a craving to have one of these, and it has to include the potato chips.

Plain salted chips and slices of gouda/cheddar between two slices of buttered bread. AKA "The Chip Sandwich".

I really like putting chips on your basic sandwich (bologna, ham, turkey, whatever). It sorta beefs it up a bit and the added crunch is really great I think.

I mix potato chips and chicken (and italian dressing).

Take your chicken breasts and dip them in a bowl of italian dressing (I like Newman's Own) then roll the chicken in crushed potato chips (put the potato chips between some wax paper and use a rolling pin to crush them). Drizzle a little more italian dressing on the chicken and bake at 350.

One of my favorite recipes from my Mom (who got it from my Dad's Mom). Moms are great.

hmm not sure why I didn't mention crisp sandwiches given I eat so many.

Also crisps crushed on top of a pasta bake or lasagne

Salad Creme as a dip for crisps
