Personally I grew to love them, and there doesn't seem to be any way to bring them back. And for me "a title bar should be a title bar should be a title bar" wasn't a problem: you just hover over the tab to see the title. The extra screen real estate for me was the bonus, even on a 24" 1920x1200 monitor; for me it's a great shame it's gone. Well, everyone who bitched about them can be happy now, they've been dropped.
