Yeah, So I’m Terrible at This

I'm going to give it one more try. As I write this I have a bunch of half-finished posts but none have made it to the blog. I simply need to find five minutes a day to write something up.

Once Daily Blogging Returns

I'm going to blog again at least once per day in 2016. I may get behind, but I'll have notes that I want to shape into a blog post and will finish them out when I get the chance. That's my only New Year's Resolution.

Blog anniversary

Well, it turns out I did remember. Happy 12th birthday, blog.

The Blog’s Anniversary

I always forget, so I'm writing it now. It launched December 10th, 2002. In 29 days, it will be a dozen years old. Yippee.

Suppose you want to produce an online magazine. 12 issues per year, each issue would be "self contained" and may even follow the paper model rather than the porn model: you only get issues when you're subscribed, but you can buy back issues ((The "porn model" is "sign up and when your subscription is active, […]

Making Alcohol Bottle Rockets

Definitely going to have to try this out.

WordPress 4.0 and This Blog

I'm behind, I know. I'll catch up some day. I think that I've had this theme for a long time. I think that I should probably just choose a default theme, or perhaps buy one, and switch to it when WordPress 4.0 comes out. This theme doesn't work with dynamic sidebars or, well, much of […]

Apple Buys Beats

Apple Buys Beats. Why? I don't know. Apple today announced it has agreed to acquire the critically acclaimed subscription streaming music service Beats Music, and Beats Electronics, which makes the popular Beats headphones, speakers and audio software. As part of the acquisition, Beats co-founders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre will join Apple. Apple is acquiring […]

Working from Home

Working from Home: The main problem you’ll encounter when working from home is… well, you. We need constraints in order to reinforce productive behaviour. The idea of a work ethic goes out the window for most people when no-one is looking over your shoulder. Some people can just work diligently, regardless of whether anyone is […]

In the next month or two, Dave Wedzik and I plan to begin selling our book, Lowest Score Wins, via the website http://lowestscorewins.com/. We'll have two products (a paperback and a hardcover), so we want a little store that integrates with PayPal (preferably) to handle sales with shipping to the U.S., Canada, and other countries […]

This Blog is Eleven…

Though I have a reminder set to go off every December 10th, I often hit "close" and then forget about it. My blog turned 11 on December 10, 2013. Yeesh. It's less than one month younger than my daughter.
