Kodak Zi6 Received

I picked up a Kodak Zi6 a few days ago. Even posted a little video on Vimeo. I bought it for two reasons: one, it's HD (720p) and two, it'll do the HD at 60 FPS, which I consider critical to recording the golf swing (for analysis). So far, I've been impressed. More to come. […]

iPhone App Install Problems

Apple needs to fix this crap: The only way to reliably install applications is to: Delete the application from the iPhone (which deletes all the data) Delete the updated app from iTunes Sync Re-Add (by drag and drop) the .ipa (iPhone App) back into iTunes Sync again Lame.

iPhone 2.1 Update

Hopefully the 2.1 iPhone OS update will put an end to these: I've also gotten repeated "Done/Retry" errors when trying to run the update(s) on the iPhone itself with the "AppStore" application. So far, so good with the update, but all apps are "up to date" now, so who knows.

Red 3K Scarlet

I'll take one, please. The 120 FPS mode will be great for shooting golf swings. Much better than my 320 x 240, 60 FPS Canon SD550 (which, for a still camera, has done a great job). Wonder what the cost will be. Thanks, John.

iPhone 3G Setup and Ready

Picked up the iPhone 3G today. Setup was not too bad: I was able to provision the new phone via iTunes and immediately use a backup from my 2G iPhone to restore most my settings, files, apps, etc. Ran into a little trouble since the backup was from a later version of the OS (2.0.2) […]

Anyone have a tip on buying a domain that is about to expire? Like, say, September 12th? I know the original owner has a period of time in which they can renew, even after September 12, but I have reason to suspect they won't be doing so, and I'd like to be first in line […]

Ordered an iPhone 3G Today

In white. It should be here in about 10 days (to the AT&T store, that is). When I get it, I'll put it on my line, give my wife the old iPhone, and hopefully everything will "sync" properly and register itself properly when I get back home to set it up on iTunes. iPhone AppleCare? […]

iPhone Pic: Spell Much?

Extravoganza! Quantaties limited! Get yours today! Ugh.

iPhone App Updating

I hate, hate, hate that when you update an app on the iPhone, the location (on the screen and within the "pages") isn't preserved. I'm ten times as annoyed by that as the fact that I can't separate items. What If I want two rows, a blank row, and then a fourth row at the […]

Roomba For my Lawn

This is the first year I've really fertilized my lawn, and man am I paying for it! I've already mowed more this year than all of last year. I'm firing up the lawn mower once every 2-3 days. Ouch. I want a Roomba for my lawn. Slap an anti-theft thing on it, modify an invisible […]

Netflix Keeps Profiles

The people have spoken, and today I received an email stating that Profiles would stay in Netflix! Hip hip hooray! Dear Erik, You spoke, and we listened. We are keeping Profiles. Thank you for all the calls and emails telling us how important Profiles are. We are sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused. […]

DirecTV Out Due to Rain

Right now, I'm not getting a DirecTV signal, or at least not one strong enough to show more than the occasional blip of a picture. I'm writing this because, despite living in Florida (heavy thunderstorms) and Erie, PA (oftentimes some pretty thick cloud cover, snow, and some bigger thunderstorms), I've lost signal due to weather […]

On July 11, I'm going to contemplate picking up a 3G iPhone (or more likely, when they are available at Apple's online store). It will depend on whether the wife wants the "old" iPhone I have now or not. If she does not, I have no problem keeping it: we don't have 3G in the […]

iPhone 3G Don’t Wannas

I don't wanna activate in a store. I don't wanna pay more for 3G if I live in an area without 3G. I don't wanna pay extra for text messages. I mean, c'mon.
