Getting an iPhone 3G? Depends on the Wife.

On July 11, I'm going to contemplate picking up a 3G iPhone (or more likely, when they are available at Apple's online store). It will depend on whether the wife wants the "old" iPhone I have now or not. If she does not, I have no problem keeping it: we don't have 3G in the area, I almost never need GPS, and the software will be largely the same.

So we'll see. Either way, we're going to lop $20 off of our voice minutes plan. We simply have too many.

  1. You may have a bit of a wait to get the chance to buy your iPhone 3G online. Even if you buy it online, you still have to trek to an AT&T or Apple Store to activate it, so I can't see the point of buying online for what will be the exact same price as in the store.

No, there have been some contradicting reports on that. I think iTunes activation (from home) is still possible.

  3. Wait - I thought you already bought it...

    So, it's my decision? Hmm....

  4. I will get one when it is available in Australia. Except we don't have any information on pricing/plans yet.
