iPhone Rate Plans Online

Wow, not bad: http://www.apple.com/iphone/easysetup/rateplans.html.

$59.99 for 450 minutes, unlimited data, 200 text messages, and 5000 night-and-weekend minutes? Not too shabby if you ask me.

Too bad, again, there's no Cingular/AT&T stores near or in Erie, PA. I may have to investigate the options come November, though, when our third cell phone falls into month-to-month. It's interesting that the page linked above says you can buy the phone on the online Apple store. I may be able to get one without actually having AT&T officially in Erie, PA. Hmmm…

P.S. There's still no Terminal app. I must remind myself of that, since that's one of the more important things I'd like to see on the iPhone.

P.P.S. This.

  1. If there is no AT&T in Erie, how are you going to get service?

Also, did you see the little note that says:

Minimum new 2-year wireless service plan and activation fee required to activate iPhone features, including iPod; plans are subject to AT&T credit approval.

I clicked the link on the page that says "Expore AT&T coverage map" and noted that all of Erie had coverage from medium to great.

Yes, I saw it. What's the problem? I'm not trying to get the phone for use with T-Mobile. I'd be an AT&T customer. I don't think you actually need a physical store anymore.

I had Cingular when I lived in Florida and kept the phone for six months or so when I moved back to PA. It wasn't a problem. Billing, coverage... no problems.

  3. Oh, maybe I misunderstood when you said:

Were you perhaps referring to a physical store at which you could buy the iPhone?

    Yes, that's what I meant.

  5. Here's a nice terminal kludge, if it's only ssh that you want:
a web based ssh shell for the iPhone-
