QotD: Retiring

Question: If you could retire at any age, what age would you choose and why?
My Answer: 40. I think it's good to put in 20 years of work, then put in 40 years doing what you love and helping others, and I think that's about what I'd do if I could.

Find a job you love and it's never actually work. At that stage I would be happy working until age prevented me from making it to work.

Until I am financially capable for the rest of my remaining life (that's to say cash at the bank that can sustain all my needs for the next 50 years or so), I can say I am retired by then. That's not to say I ain't working anymore, maybe I would do something I always wanted to do and not having to worry if I get paid for doing them.

120! That's probably 20 years earlier than I'm allowed to when I'm at that age.

40? I think I'd just be getting started then. 34 is my "ideal age" and has been for a long time.

Depends on the job. The one that I have to pay the bills: Now. The other that doesn't pay (yet) as much: Never.
