Question: What's your chat client of choice?
My Answer: Adium. And before that, Adium.

The Official AIM client w/ the banner add hacked out, the notification badge hacked out, and a different icon. Takes a lot of work to get it set up after a new release, but since my friends use that mobile aim crap i wanna know if they are actually online or just have that stupid phone icon.

Justin, the 1.x version of Adium indicates whether or not a user is using the mobile AIM by showing the service as "WAP" (hold you mouse over a user's alias).

irssi 😀
I hardly ever talk via ICQ/AIM; it's mostly there to see if people are actually online.
And I hate the word "chat." I don't chat, I have a discussion.

I use Proteus now. It's superior to Adium in that it supports multiple services. None of the people I know seem to be able to get together and decide on a single service to use.
When not on a Mac, I like to use gAIM on Linux. I used to use Trillian on the PC, but I don't really IM on the PC anymore.
Word is an OSX native gAIM client is being worked on and I'll defnitely take a good look at it when it's available.

Hmm, Chat doesn't mean Instant Messaging, although you can chat with an IM client.
My chat client of choice was The Palace, which unfortunately lies dormant, collecting dust in the hands of the company that bought the assest of Communities.com when it folded due to poor management.
