QotD: Cupertino

Question: How many times, if any, have you been to Cupertino? Do you want to go for the first time or again?

My Answer: I've been to the iHolyLand about eight times. iPlan to return, perhaps for WWDC 2004*. Ooh, that reminds me - I've gotta renew my ADC membership in February…

* Yes, I know WWDC is now in San Francisco. It's about an hour's drive to Cupertino, and I'd make that drive.

  1. Is there something to see at Apple other than a gift shop?

  2. I've been there once: WWDC 2001. This begs the question, with WWDC now in SF, what do they do for the Beer Bash? Doesn't matter a whole lot, I'm going to try attend again this year and I can't legally drink yet anyway 😉

  3. once, and I would like to go again. get me some of those stickers!

  4. At WWDC 2003, we all just took a one-hour bus ride to Cupertino; I'd imagine they'll do the same thing in 2004 since I didn't hear anyone complain about it being too long.

  5. Several times a week.

  6. Apple Campus is fun until you get to the Lobby. 🙂 The entire campus is gorgeous, I had a chance to roam through it with an employee-friend of mine. Definitely felt at home, just a nice atmosphere.

Oh yeah, the Company Store rocks, too. 🙂

  7. I *live* in Cupertino--literally :-).

  8. If you can get from Moscone Center to 1 Infinite Loop in an hour, I'd like to know where you got your jetpack.

  9. No jet pack. Heck, even without a lead foot in a car it's only about 50 minutes. I live another 20 miles south of Infinite Loop (at the south end of San Jose), and make it from home to the Moscone in an hour flat.

Oh yeah, Cupertino. I worked for Apple for nearly six years, parting ways with them about two years ago. So I've been to Cupertino, oh, call it about 1,500 times now. Do I win?
