QotD: Golf

Question: Do you play golf?

My Answer: Yep. Was quite good for awhile (and at the real-life version, not the video game version), and haven't played anywhere near regularly since moving to Florida, perhaps the golf capital of the US. Hrmph.

  1. Yep. My parents' house is directly across the street from the 15th green and 16th tee of a private country club where the course winds its way throughout the neighborhood. So I grew up running out there with an 8-iron (it's all we had) and balls stolen from the yards of houses across the street from the driving range. Then there was the security guard that would drive around in a jeep yelling at us whippersnappers to get off private property. Anyhoo, never really took it seriously until about a year and a half ago and now I've been taking these group style lesssons. Haven't been out in a couple weeks due to some back pain, but feel better and am hitting the range tomorrow to get ready for a private lesson next week. Have no clue what my handicap is, but have broken 90 on an executive course (par 60) here in town. Not that great, but not terrible, either. A new driver would help tremendously, I think.

  2. I tried Mario Golf once.

  3. Some friends and I frequent the golf course with clubs, but I don't know if what we do actually qualifies as "Golf."

  4. I've tried mini golf and some old nintendo gold game. I dont mean Nintendo64... I mean, the NES, the first one. Yes, I still have it. Thank you, thank you!
