Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper

Why couldn't they make a non-diet version? I don't drink brown colas anymore (and I'm trying to limit my intake of Sprite/7-Up), but I may drink one now and then if they had a non-diet version.

  1. They do. I've gone through two 12-packs already.

  2. Wow, I haven't seen any in stores. They've just had diet, diet, diet. Thanks.

  3. Interesting. I had the same complaint. I haven't seen any non-diet ones anywhere either.

  4. Diet Dr. Pepper is one of the most successful Diet drinks because it tastes more like the original than other diet versions of other soft drinks. For similar reasons, flavored diet drinks (like Diet Cherry Coke) thrive as a diet drink, sometimes doing better than the 'non-flavored' diet drink.

What I find strange about this particular Dr. Pepper variety, regular or diet, is that Dr. Pepper already is, arguably, a cherry coke. Or a Cherry Vanilla Coke (Actually, it may be the amaretto notes, the almond extract, that defines Dr. Pepper, but the similarity is still there... if you want a Dr. Pepper and can't find one, try a Cherry Coke. Getting a Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, is like getting a Cherry Vanilla Cherry Vanilla Coke. Or a Dr. Pepper Flavored Dr. Pepper.

Am I the only one to consider Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper a redundancy?

  5. Indeed, they do make regular Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, and it's very good. However, I have noticed that for some odd reason, some stores seem to only carry the diet version.

  6. I'm a fan of Dr. Pepper and Diet Dr. Pepper. I tried this new stuff out and found it to generally taste like....Dr. Pepper.

  7. Since Dr. Pepper is from an original receipe of a dozen or so separate flavorings, it is likely that cherry and vanilla are already a part of the main mix. That said, I really like the flavor of the Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper.

I think that Diet Dr. Thunder (Wal-Mart brand) tastes like Dr. Pepper, only more so. I can not tell the difference but prefer the store brand (which sells for 2/3 the price).

  8. I hadn't realized they made a non-diet version either. They're constantly advertising the diet one on TV, but I never saw an ad for a non-diet version. I haven't really paid attention in stores, though, as I don't drink it.

  9. I haven't seen the non-diet either -- although the Diet version tastes just fine -- and I hate diet after taste. I can't wait for Diet Cherry Strawberry Vanilla Half-caff Dr. Pepper.

  10. The reason you don't often hear of regular Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper is that it is only available in some states (Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas, plus some parts of Florida, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, and Georgia). Yes, it is pretty strange that the regular isn't as widely distributed as the diet.

  11. When will your diet Dr. Pepper's (Plain & Cherry Vanilla) come out with Splenda as opposed to Aspertame. Is it the Aspertame that contains the phynelene (misspelled)?

  12. I use to see regular Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper in select stores in Maine. I haven't seen it in about a year. I recently haven't been able to find any Diet anywhere! Not one store in my area has had it for the last couple of months.

  13. I'm a fan of Dr. Pepper and Diet Dr. Pepper. I tried this new stuff out and found it to generally taste like....Dr. Pepper.

  14. Indeed, they do make regular Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, and it's very good.

  15. THey now have a diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper. Had it during one of my best friend's parties. Pretty good stuff. ALthough the apsertaim is not good for you from what i hear.
