Quick update. The couple that owns the house now counter-offered at $192,000 and no washer and dryer (a $3,000 pair or so) and we accepted. Why someone would bother to risk offending someone for a measly thousand bucks is beyond me.

Wow - they're $3,000 now?? When I bought my washer & dryer, they were around $900 a pair... and it wasn't that long ago. You're making me feel old. 😉

No, not necessarily. But their washer/dryer were worth about $3,000. Which is why we added them to the offer. Heh heh.

Surely you must be joking. For most people I know, a thousand dollars is a huge amount of money.
