Bitch About Erie .com

I've been thinking of starting a new forum called "bitchabouterie.com" (or something similar - go ahead and register the domain before I can, I don't care). People would, duh, use it to bitch about Erie, PA. Traffic lights, potholes, politicians, the lack of dog parks, the weather, whatever. Perhaps, and this may be a bit of a pipe dream, it could help people organize and to get some things done, fixed, repaired, and improved.

I am posting here because I know a few "Erie-ites" read my blog. If you're interested in such a thing, or have any suggestions or ideas, please let me know either by commenting here, emailing me (see sidebar to the right), or by sending me a message on AIM ("iacas").

If you're interested in partnering with me to do this, I'm particularly interested in hearing from you. You never know - I think such a site might get some media coverage down the road.

  1. COunt me in - actively in.

Don't get me wrong.... 7 months out of the year I have much fewer things to bitch about.... guess which months...

But let's see. 12th St. traffic light timing. My favorite - near my house - 26th and Crescent and the radar the means nothing. How about the power failures - I had three this weekend - where you can only talk to someone in NEW JERSEY while calling the "emergency" number....

    Yeah. Count me in.

  2. Our new hometown has just a site. Not well designed or visually appealing, but a great way to get a feeler on what people are talking and bitchin' about. Here it is if you want to get some ideas: http://www.wwptoday.com

  3. This is a great idea. I think you should do it even though I don't live in Erie.

I just wonder how you will get over certain hurdles to make the site truly effective.

  4. The dog park I mentioned back here is still not open. It really makes me re-consider doing this....
