Set RoadRunner Non-Existing Domain Preferences

At one point today I typed "homedepot" into my browser's location bar and hit return. I was annoyed, then, when RoadRunner gave me their usual "oops, that's not a valid domain" page: http://ww23.rr.com/index.php?origURL=http://homedepot/. It's the same thing I dislike(d) about OpenDNS and my dislike has not subsided.
Fortunately, I noticed today that you can set your preferences at http://ww23.rr.com/prefs.php. Your URL may vary depending on your location, but hit it up and do what you need to do. I've changed mine to Disable, Disable, and Do Not Filter.

I understand your frustration- Verizon does this too, and it's utterly full of ads, almost no actual search results and I really dislike it.
Unfortunately it is impossible to disable the search on OpenDNS- though you can define your own custom 'shortcuts' that go to specific links. Luckily too as noted in your previous post on the matter- OpenDNS does attempt to add the .com before redirecting you to Google search results.
I use OpenDNS as I can't disable the Verizon bull and of the two, OpenDNS is considerably better. I think that the best way to use OpenDNS isn't just through punching in their servers- but in opening an account and customizing the settings.

You can turn off the OpenDNS proxy page. All you have to do is create an account, add a network, and in the Advanced Settings turn everything off. Type correction, OpenDNS proxy, and .cm filtering are the key ones. Give it another try.

I've done so and am giving this a try. Nathan, do you know when they added the ability to disable everything?
It takes a few minutes (they tell you three) before the settings propagate, but now I can type things like "apple/ipod" and be taken to the right place, as well as everything else that lets Safari auto-prepend and -append "www." and ".com"
