   Other: I much prefer the idea of tabs on top over the old tab implementation, so I won't vote for #3, but I'm definitely not happy with some of the details of how they're implemented right now.

   I think John Gruber summed up the problems pretty well in his blog post a few weeks ago.

   The screwed up window gradients, stupid-looking move handles, tiny drop area for turning URLs into new tabs, the extreme width of tabs, and the click-to-focus issues are among my top complaints.

   I really liked the new tabs, but then Safari 4 went *really* unstable, so I uninstalled it. I definitely liked the speed though.

   It's a terrible UI, because it means that a title bar is no longer a title bar. I didn't mind the previous implementation - it's just like every other tabbed browser out there, so I don't get the complaints there - but a title bar should be a title bar should be a title bar.

   Well, everyone who bitched about them can be happy now, they've been dropped.

   Personally I grew to love them, and there doesn't seem to be any way to bring them back. And for me "a title bar should be a title bar should be a title bar" wasn't a problem: you just hover over the tab to see the title. The extra screen real estate for me was the bonus, even on a 24" 1920x1200 monitor; for me it's a great shame it's gone.
