I sometimes wish very much that I could express myself as well in person (or with my voice) as well as I can when I write.
It's not even that I edit things. I tend to get things right the first time through. There's just something in that small bit of added time that's required when typing rather than speaking that lets me say things that little bit better that makes all the difference.

A trick that I have been making myself do is to take a couple of breathes before answering a question. I normally want to blurt out the first thing that comes to mind, but I make myself take a couple of breathes to think, and then answer.
There is no harm in taking time to answer, but its hard to make yourself do it.
