National Day of Prayer

From this Newsday.com article (found on TooMuchSexy.blog) comes this load of hooey:

The House passed a resolution Thursday calling for a national day of humility, prayer and fasting in a time of war and terrorism. The resolution, passed 346-49, says Americans should use the day of prayer "to seek guidance from God to achieve a greater understanding of our own failings and to learn how we can do better in our everyday activities, and to gain resolve in meeting the challenges that confront our nation."

Says Etan:

Great, will I now become unpatriotic and a terrorist for being athiest and not having a "god" to pray to?

I've long wondered why "In God We Trust" remains on our money. And while I'm currently a spiritual person, I don't necessarily believe in any established God (more to the idea that there is "something more out there").

Whatever.

Let's build a list of the ways in which George W. Bush is a twit. I guess now that he's forced his opinion on the rest of the world, he's going to force his opinions on religion on us?

This is a much, much longer entry trying to bust out, but I'm not going to let it. I know a few things are true:

  • Being President is tough.
  • I have a higher IQ than our current President.
  • The prior does not mean I could do a better job at all.
  • The prior does not infer that Al Gore could have done a better job either.
  • I really, really dislike politics.
  • I really, really dislike politicians who have an IQ lower than mine and insist on proving it every day.

Do I think George W. Bush is stupid? No. Do I think he's one of the dumber presidents? You betcha. The guy can't think on his feet. He insists on pronouncing it "nuc-u-lar." He couldn't name six foreign heads of state while running for the office he now has (whether he got it legitimately or not I don't care to argue).

Okay, cutting this off now before I say anything else.

  1. Aren't you thankful to live in a nation where you can openly disagree with your leaders and not expect any kind of retribution?

Oh, wait a minute... Dixie Chicks.

  2. When you talk about Bush's IQ you wouldn't be referring to this, would you?

  3. Nope. I'm referring to the fact that he's an idiot and proves this nearly every time he opens his mouth. :-O

  4. Day of Prayer

TooMuchSexy.blog and NSLog both have good entries on the latest in stupid national law. Just because a law doesn't mention...

  5. Is Bush An Idiot?

I?ve grown very weary of people attacking Bush using what is, essentially, ad-hominem rhetoric, lacking in any substance.

  6. Buzz takes issue with my previous mention of Shrub*, calling it a "withering assault." Frankly, I thoguht it was rather glib, and anyone who knows...

  7. President Bush has BAD fashion sense!

I really hope I don't get too much shite for this post, considering I live in America with free speech and all. But I think it's something that needs to be said, at least for my sake alone. This is...

  8. To paraphrase stand up comedian Dennis Miller, "shouldn't the guy who can use nuclear weapons be able to prounce the word first?"

And yes, I agree, he's a twit and a moron, and looks like a monkey. The fact that he has started or almost started conflicts with three separate countries since he got into office doesn't help either (china for that fighter incident, afganistan, and iraq).. that must be a record of some sort, isn't it?
