QotD: Breakups

Question: What is the best breakup you've ever had?
My Answer: I've "broken up" with all of one person. It took me a month to figure out how to do it (I'd dated her for five years), but in the end it basically came down to "I can't make you happy anymore, I haven't been able to make you happy for awhile, and I'm not sure I can in the future." In other words, I blamed myself, even though I really felt she had a lot of issues. We tried to be friends but she eventually decided "I can't get over you if we still talk all the time." So, the best and the worse.

Me and my girlfriend of 3 years just split over the weekend, because we are both incredibly busy and hardly have time to ever see each other.
This is probably the only breakup I have had where they haven't called me about 36 names in the book. 🙂

About two weeks after she said she'd travel the world with me (not that we were going to, but that she'd be willing to, you had to be there), she dumps me, over instant messenger, with a whole slew of meaningless bullshit she most likely got from the nearest soap opera. Get this: "I've just grown so much, and I don't want to make decisions that affect people." I also got "It's not you, it's me" AND "It's you, you're too shy". And she was furious at me for finding a contradiction there. Argh.

...Oh, and I left out the best part. She's been sleeping with my closest friend in my home every night, when there's a perfectly available, private room on campus. Jeez Luweez.
