QotD: Favorite Movie

Question: What is your favorite movie?

My Answer: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Based on the Tom Stoppard play of the same name, this movie follows the hijinks of Rosencrantz, errr, Guildenstern, errr, the duo as they spend some time at Elsinore. It's intellectually funny, and raises a lot of philosophical questions that matter more in life than those posed in The Matrix.

  1. Mine is 2001: A Space Odyssey. Just an all around great movie.

If we cut the field down to only comedies, it would be Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb (I'm getting payed by the word, hence the full title :-P).

  2. My Favorites:-

    Action Movies - The Rock

War Movies - Band of Brothers

Love Story - The Love Affair

    Classic - It's a Wonderful Life

    Movies with unforgettable scenes

    - The Contender for the speech at the "House" by President Jackson.

    - The Majestic where Luke Trimble gave an inspiring speech about the Constitution.

  3. A Christmas Story ("You'll put your eye out!")

  4. 8 1/2 - A childish, selfish, womanizing film director learns what to leave behind and what's worth keeping (and grows tremendously in the process) while enduring a professional disaster.
