Flying

"I'm leeeeaaaaving… on a jet plane…" I'm flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow for my sister's wedding (Saturday). A friend is flying up Saturday morning to join me. Then Sunday I'm off to California for two weeks.
I'll still be writing. Whether or not I'll get the chance to post things when I write them remains to be seen. In the next few days I won't, but out in California I'm sure I'll be able to find an Internet connection somewhere. 🙂
Mike, Vinay, Josh, Jason - you know my cell #. We'll hang out. What is there to do in San Jose? I'm looking forward to going to the tech museum and the aquarium. Those are what I've been told to see the weekend I'm there. Any other suggestions?

The Apple Company Store! Bah, you said weekend... nevermiiiiind...
The Exploratorium in SF is nice, plus you can see the Golden Gate bridge from there, which is always nice. Of course driving and parking in SF SUCKS, but hey, you're a tourist for this, you'll deal.
Have a great trip!

If you're planning on hiking up to SF for the Exploratorium, try and get reservations for the Tactile Dome, which is very very cool.
If you're into poker, Bay 101 is a good place to play poker on the north edge of San Jose.

Let me know when you are in SF and I'll take you up to Twin Peaks and out to the Marin Headlands for the two best views in town.

If you've never been to Muir Woods, you should go. You can't find anything like it outside of California.

Ironically, I'm leaving Pittsburgh tomorrow to go to Eastern Pennsylvania for a wedding. Have fun while you're here! I hope you get to see stuff besides just the wedding.
Of course, my heart is in San Francisco (err, the 'Greater Bay Area'), and I know you'll have a great time there.

Have a blast while you're here, Erik... There's a good Thai place in San Jose called "House of Siam" at 55 South Market street.

Fry's Electronics. You don't have to buy anything, just gawk at the selection, pricing, and masses of people waiting to be abused by the Door Nazis.
