QotD: Blogroll

Question: Do you subscribe to your own blogroll?

My Answer: Yep. In case anything goes wrong, I suppose. Testing purposes, y'know.

You are encouraged to answer the Question of the Day for yourself in the comments or on your blog.

  1. If you are asking "do you subscribe to your own RSS feed?" my answer is also Yep. I did it originally when I changed my xml to show trackbacks & comments, but I left it there so I can see if anything I post may cause my feed not to validate for some reason.

Sad thing is, sometimes when I'm surfing my feeds quickly I'll read my own posts and not immediately realize that they're mine and think (for a brief second) "Oh, someone's posting on the same thing I am!" then feel really stupid for having the thought. 🙂

  2. I susbscribe to both my 0.91 and 1.0 RSS feeds in NetNewsWire just to make sure they're working. And I've had each of them fail independently of the other. I never thought to subscribe to myself in Blogroll, though.

  3. I subscribe to my RSS feed as well so that I can assure myself that it has in fact been updated. Sometimes it fails so it's always good to catch it so that I can fix it.
