  1. Doogie was early 90s. 🙂

  2. ...and thanks to 10-10-220, Alf is back. However, if you know Alf is from Melmac, then you are old-school. 🙂

  3. Slap bracelets! Yes!

  4. Also, it's not "Shot Through the Heart," it's "You Give Love a Bad Name." And I do know all the lyrics. 😉

  5. Oh man, there are some memories coming back. How about "You could watch He-man and *not* think about how incrediably gay he was"?

  6. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

  7. I, uh, must've missed something. The only ones that register with me are 1, 17, 25, 28, 36, 37, 40, 43, and 52. Some are things I can relate to tangentially -- I had Pound Puppies but never watched a TV show about them; I remember the music video for some DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince song but I don't remember the words; I watched Duck Tales a bit on lazy middle school afternoons but don't remember how the theme song went; I played a lot of Oregon Trail but never had a specific day for it; I vaguely remember JEM being a cartoon but never saw it and don't recall anyone talking about it; I remember friendship bracelets but don't recall anyone thinking they were anything special beyond being things that we made ourselves; and 90210 was something my older sister cared about, not me.

For what it's worth, Burger King birthday parties were way better than McDonald's birthday parties.

26 was a late-90's thing. And I didn't see Saved by the Bell until high school.

    What's 80's-specific about Red Rover?

  8. I also really don't understand how anyone can discuss growing up in the 80's without mentioning Cabbage Patch Kids or Garbage Pail Kids, or Super Mario Bros. on the original Nintendo.

  9. weird that you're five years older, but I still remember all the things you're talking about...

  10. I've five years older than Erik, and I barely remember the 80's. Either it's a) I've chosen to forget or b) it's all the cocaine i did that makes me forget.

Seriously, I never thought the New Kids were EVER cool. Besides, where the heck are The Transformers? That was THE coolest toy of the 80's! I still have a bunch on my desk.

  11. 80's Kids

You grew up in the eighties if......

  12. This sounds more like for people BORN in the 80s... Not people that really LIVED through them.

  13. I laughed out loud when I got to "41. You've gone through this nodding your head in agreement," since I had been the whole time.

You're three years older than me, but this is still 99.9% accurate.

  14. You were super-excited when it was Oregon Trail day incomputer class at school

Yeah, but my damn boat always got stuck in the river.

    - Scott

  15. i was born in the second half of the 80s but my sisters were born in the second half of the 70s so i remember a ton of that stuff through both them and my own experiences. oregon trail, skip-its, slap bracelets, MASH, Saved by the Bell, Blossom, and many more. oh the nostalgia...

  16. Did i miss the pinning and rolling of jean legs?

  17. As a Dad with two young girls, I can tell you that Strawberry Shortcake is mega-popular nowadays... again.

Also, SpongeBob is on Saturday mornings. That should count for something...

  18. IT"S ALL SOOOOO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!! You know you were born in the eighties if you still watch Saved By the Bell religously every morning at 7:00 and then again at 12 on TBS.

that tape that mom would buy for you on your birthday..."hey (your name) its your birthday. its your birthday today.... Ahhhh theres just too much!!

And whoever put sponge bob obviously you arent a baby of the 80s... i would have givin it to you if you said bobbys world..even so that was early 90s

  23. Wow! I can relate to so many of the things listed. Especially the one about Saved by the Bell. I knew and still know all the original characters names and their life stories. As a matter of fact, my sister and I used to play house: I would be Kelly Kapalski and Zack Morris would be my boyfriend. She would be Jesse Spano. Hah! Those were definetely the good ol' days.

Does anyone remember 321 Contact and Ghost Writer, that show that used to be on PBS that took you back in time? We used to watch it all the time in school for "educational purposes"...wow - memories. I think I'll walk into work this morning singing the theme song from Jem...

  30. YEAH I REMEMBER ALOT OF THOSE THINGS. WHAT ABOUT G.I JOE TOYS AND THE CARTOON. LETS NOT FORGET HIDE AND GO GET IT. 🙂 THE PHAT HOUSE PARTIES. PEOPLE WEARING JERRY CURLS. PARENTS TELLING YOU TO COME CHANGE THE CHANNEL (THANK GOD FOR THE REMOTE CONTROL). BREAK DANCING POPPING AND LOCKING. THE COSBY SHOW.

  31. Ya'll seem like the crowd to help me... I am desperatly trying to remember a show that was on only breifly, and I had the dolls... They were these nude flesh colored babies that were fuzzy and had a magic mirror to get to a land with like many happies... HELP, I can manage to remember everything but the name of these things, and its KILLING me... thanks ... This was fun... and can i say something about pegging the bottom of our pants?
