QotD: Haircutting

Question: How much do you pay for a haircut?

My Answer: $15, and I tip $5 because my barber is a nice guy. He doesn't talk too much, he doesn't talk about annoying things, and he doesn't shove my head around like a, uhhh, better left unsaid. I could go to MasterCuts and pay $12, but I believe in supporting your local independent business. At least for haircuts. 🙂

  1. Hair cut? You can cut it? I thought that's what hats were for. Wow. I have to look into that. 🙂

  2. I havn't cut mine in a couple years, but I wouldn't pay more than 15.

  3. $0. My brother does it for me. Especially when he tires of my mini-Afros. 😉

  4. I haven't gotten a real hair cut since I moved to Nashville but I use to pay 12 for a hair cut every 6 weeks and tip 3. then they raised it to $14 and I have to think that that was a bad move because I go there with a $20 that I got out of the ATM, because I don't like to carry cash with me (it's too tempting) should I have them make change for the $5 or give them the one and keep the five or what. I told them that by having their price at the high end of $5 that they are losing out on tips and so the next time I went in (my last time too) they raised it again to $16.

I had been going there for 6 years with them only raising the price twice .

  5. Depends on where I am. I think it is like $10 at home and $15 at college. I always tip $5 too.

  6. I also pay $0. My girlfriend gives me one with a Flowbee. It works great 🙂

  7. Genetics cuts my hair for me.

  8. I have no routine hair cutting solution. At times I've let it grow out, and at times I've kept it very short. I've yet to find a hair cutter that I really like and that does a great job.

I'd say my average is 20-25 dollars.

  9. Hair Cuts Suck

Eric poses the question of the day, “How much do you pay for a haircut?”. The simple answer for me is as little as possible. I dislike getting my hair cut greatly. The main reason for this probably stems from...

  10. By the campus to the U of U there is a $4 haircut place. Not much for getting a new style, but to get a trim, or something easy it is the best. There is at any given time about 8 people cutting hair. So the wait is usually pretty short. I usually tip 100~150% so I pay total out of pocket about $10. However I am kind of getting sick of my hair style and would like something new, but don't really have an opinion so I might go spend some more and get a stylist to spend some time suggesting something for me. However the lazy side of me is thinking that a buzz cut would be nice to have and those I can do myself fairly well for free anytime I want it 🙂

  11. As far as I know, the only two people who have ever cut my hair are my mom and my girlfriend. So I've never paid for a haircut..

  12. I've only had a pro haircut once. I cut my own hair.

  13. I don't pay anything because i go to school for haircutting and i let my friends cut my hair.
