Ballmer a Clueless Dolt

Says Steve Ballmer, the man whose platform and OS ran Napster for quite a few years:

iPod users are music thieves. We’ve had DRM in Windows for years. The most common format of music on an iPod is 'stolen'.

To Ballmer: you're a friggin' idiot. Sit down and shaddup. Read more at silicon.com.

  1. Can't be done. If Ballmer ever shuts up it will create a huge thermonuclear explosion that will wipe off all life on earth. You may have better luck trying to shut up Howard Stern or O'Reilly.

  2. I was going to say the same thing, but I don't think I could have done so as elegantly. "Clueless dolt" - sheer poetry 🙂

  3. I bet the iPod is the only MP3 player out there that ships with a sign stuck to its LCD that says "don't steal music" in 5 or 6 languages.

  4. Well, iPod is close to becoming a generic term, much like band-aid, or Kleenex. Maybe that's what he meant by 'iPod.' That could return just a touch of his credibility, but .... not much.

Besides, it's not like this music he mentions wasn't already on the WINDOWS PCs of users prior to their purchase. "Oh, I just got my iPod. Now, I will go download hella illegal music for the FIRST TIME!!" yeah, sure...

  5. The most common form of music on Windows computers is stolen, asshat.

  6. The most common form of music on Windows computers is stolen

For that matter, the most common form of software on windows is stolen.

  7. Speaking of theft, hats off to Microsoft for their iTunes...err...I mean MSN music store.

  8. Seems like Ballmer is getting closer to his idol every day:

    I'm seriously considering to register welovethemicrosoftceo.com 😉

  9. Silicon.com retracts its article.

  10. I can't believe they retracted their article?
