QotD: Stock Price

Question: Where will Apple's stock price be on January 1, 2005? I'll give whomever is closest (your vote must be in by the end of the day in my time zone on October 15, 2004) two free licenses to the FSS software of their choosing. Vote once only or be disqualified.

My Answer: $32.23. It's at about $40 right now, but that just doesn't seem right. I got a bunch of Apple stock just this year (granted, it was January) at about $16.

You are encouraged to answer the Question of the Day for yourself in the comments or on your blog.

  7. $42.42 as a guess out of the wild blue.

  14. Call me an optimist: $51.25

Why? Rumors of the new color iPod, along with Christmas sales, and some old-fashioned luck.

Oh, and I wanted to mention that your customer service people rock the house. I sent in a problem via the FSS site about a crashing problem in PulpFiction and it was responded to within 3 hours on a Friday night, and then cleared up 2 hours later, with a personal (non-form letter) e-mail letting me know that the version update was out there.

Those boys, and specifically Brad Miller, deserve a pat on the back and a little something in their stockings for the great work. I'm still smiling!

  15. $ 33.33 - may this guess will be correct for just this very day 😉

  16. I'm thinking it'll get to $38.89

  17. $48.43

  18. $39.17

  19. $43.50.

  20. $42.47

  21. It's hard to say what a stock can do in just three months, and so much depends on this holiday season. I'll be optimistic too though -- $51.26.
