10.3.6 and Photoshop

It may just be me, but it seems like ever since updating to 10.3.6 Photoshop's been having a fight with the shift key. The shift key no longer constrains proportions while dragging or draws perfect squares or circles. When I let go of the drag, the item snaps to the proportional size, but that's often nowhere near where I've guessed it might be.

This has happened in the past a few times, and deleting the preferences has never helped. I removed the plugins (all of them), and that didn't help. Disabling the two app plugins (adobelargecursor.bundle and the same for Panther) doesn't help. In the past, I think that it's required either a Photoshop update or an OS update.

Hrm.

  1. i have no such probs with 10.3.6 and photyshop cs.

    🙂

  2. A neighbor had this problem... I asked him if it was ok, then quit it and trashed his Photoshop preferences. Relaunched Photoshop, and it works fine again. Hope that helps (and that you don't have a ton of custom settings)!

  3. So it turns out that the problem I was having with the shift key in 10.3.6 are actually tied to, of all things, Terminal! Yes, with Terminal running, the shift key in Photoshop doesn't work properly. Nor does non-proportional resizing...

  4. I had the exact same problem. Found this site, tried trashing my prefs and relaunching PS CS2. No luck.

Then I rebooted. lol Problem solved.

Answer - just reboot. Don't even bother trashing your prefs. If the problem still persists , THEN trash your prefs and reboot.

    Good luck!

  5. I'm having the same problem, i have not idea what causes it, but it just starts happening out of the blue. I wish There was a better solution to the problem. I'm thinking about writing Adobe to see if its documented.
