Default Screen Capture Format is now PNG?

I don't remember reading that Apple had moved away from PDF as the default screen capture, but every time I capture a screen in Tiger I get a PNG. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but I do know I don't remember reading about it.

  1. Can't test this yet, but I read somewhere that the '+ #' variations for the screen capture still allow all options.

  2. I don't know what you're talking about, Rob. Shift-cmd-3 and -4 work as they used to. It's not about the content of the capture(s), it's about the format.

  3. I think you can chalk it up to people sending Apple feedback who were irritated they would have to convert screenshots from PDF to PNG, JPG, or some other image variant in order to post them on the web.

    Personally, I welcome the change.

  4. This will be much better. The only reason I ever take screenshots is to put them on the web, I never liked having to always convert to some other format.

  5. You haven't been reading the right places! 🙂
