QotD: AppleJack

Question: Has anyone used AppleJack? If so, what do you think? If not, had you heard of it before?

My Answer: I'm curious what others think. It looks nice!

  1. I have heard of it but never had a need for it.

  2. Yes, and it seems to work great. Essentially it's a shell script in single user mode that will call individually, or in series, disk repair, repair permissions, cache cleaning, deleting swap files, etc. and then restart or shutdown.

It makes the disk repair/repair permissions combo after update much simpler.

Latest version is 1.4 and I think there's still a quirk in it but it seems to run and work fine. More details on the VersionTracker comments.
