It's probably related to the Keyspan Express Remote. The receiver plugs into the USB port of the AirPort Express and the remote controls the copy of iTunes that's currently playing music on the Express. It works as a regular remote control that plugs into a Mac too.
It's infrared, thought, so not what you're looking for.
