QotD: Media Card

Question: What is the capacity and form factor of your largest media card (largest in terms of storage, not physical, size)?

My Answer: A 512 MB CompactFlash card. One is going back today.

P.S. iPods don't count.

  1. 128MB (Sony) Memory Stick.

  2. 2 GB Compact Flash... great for taking lots of RAW formatted digital pics.

  3. 2 GB CF for camera. Great for 500 8MP HQ JPEGs as well.

  4. 1 GB SD for the Treo 650.

  5. I have a handfull of 2GB CF cards for my Nikon D70. 6MP RAW images burn through them very quickly.

  6. I have 3 1gig CF cards and a 1gig SD card. I wish they had a trade-in plan where you could get a 2gig for two 1gigs.

  7. As for largest physical media card, I still have a 1mb RAM PCMCIA type II card from my Newton, and a (coveted) 2mg Flash type II card.

The RAM card had a coin battery to keep the information intact.

  8. 1GB SD card for my Nikon point and shoot 5MP camera. And a 512MB SD card in my Treo 650.
