Another QuickTime Update but iTunes Still Sucks

Another QuickTime update (to 7.1), and still iTunes absolutely sucks donkey balls at playing videos. Ho hum. 😛

  1. It's absolutely amazing how Apple gets away with such a crappy video implementation in iTunes. I think this is indicative of Steve Jobs not watching videos much in iTunes - it tends to have much better polish in places he spends his time. (Browse mode, iTMS, AutoFill.)

  2. I hate that too...have resorted to right-clicking on a video in iTunes, then "show song file" and opening it in QuickTime Player or VLC. Might look around for an AppleScript solution (maybe an "open selection in QT Player" script menu item) if they don't fix this and it gets more annoying to me.

It's a shame, isn't this something that should be easy to fix? I don't really program, so I've got no idea.

  3. I do exactly the same thing Mike, I can't stand watching video in iTunes.

I've been using something like this: iTunes: Open with QuickTime
