Seeking Iris Beta Testers
Posted March 20th, 2007 @ 01:57pm by Erik J. Barzeski
Beta testing for "Iris" is scheduled to begin just as the month of March ends. If you're interested in what is basically a drastically improved PulpFiction, leave a comment or otherwise get in touch with me (via email if you'd like).
The current schedule is as follows:
April 1 - Begin small beta test.
April 15 - Enlarge beta test.
May 1 - Release.
Subject to change, of course.
A favor: if you comment or email me, please provide a full first and last name.

I really liked PulpFiction, I'd be willing to beta test.

Why not. Paid and used PulpFiction for a long time because the concept intrigued me.

I would also be interested.

I'll give it a spin. I hope it's localized to Swedish :-).

Sure, I'll test it for you too.

Happy to give it a whirl for you!

Love to test it. Been using PulpFiction for over 3 years. Two questions:
(1) Does it download and stored posts in a database? Not sure if I'm asking this right, but one thing I liked about PulpFiction over NetNewsWire was how I could save my favorite posts forever. Which brings me to my other question...
(2) What can I import from PulpFiction?
I was very disappointed with how the new owner let things slide. I don't often volunteer to beta test because there's so few things I use religiously enough, but I always have my RSS reader open and check things out 2-4 times a day. I use most every feature in PulpFiction too. This is one time I really think I can give you useful feedback on a frequent basis.

It's very much the same idea - with a few more perks - yes.

We're going to try to have a script that will import just about everything. You may have to set some preferences again, but labels, articles, flags - ideally we'll import it all.

Paid NetNewsWire user, but both willing to try something new and also been doing beta testing for years.

I'm also interested. Been using PF for a while...dying for an updated version similar to it.

Interested, after leaving Feedlounge i've bounced around a few different readers and settled on Vienna for now.

If you still have room, I'll happily toss my hat in. I'm still plugging away with PF.
I'm also an ADC member so can also test with some of the stuff I get that way, if it's helpful. 😉

I'd love to beta test Iris. I've been waiting forever for a Pulpfiction replacement.

I'm still using the aging Pulp Fiction... Newsnetwhatever and all the other's i've tried just don't act how i want them too, and if anything would, i imagine you'd be the guy to build it. 🙂
I'd love to be a part of the test. 🙂

I'd definitely do it. I write good bug reports too 🙂

I'm a paid NNW user, but I just switched and have a lot of beta experience as well.

I'm interested. Am a paid NNW, Pulp Fiction, and endo customer. I still haven't found what I'm looking for, but I'm sure endo and NNW aren't it. PF provides the best experience, and am intrigued at the suggestion of a follow-on.

I'll be glad to help test 🙂

I'm interested. I recently switched back to PulpFiction after using NetNewsWire for a (too long) while and I have some beta testing experience (a game called Midnight Mansion and Adam Knight's Notae, not counting various applications that were supposed to be 1.0 but really had an alpha or beta behaviour ).

I'd love to give it a shot, I've been shopping around for a new client lately.
Posted 21 Mar 2007 at 6:36pm #
I'll help.

Would like to participate. Longtime NNW user, and now using Vienna.

Count me in for the beta...

Pulp was my first shareware purchase! I'd very much enjoy giving Iris an early whirl.

I found your website looking for what happened to Pulp Fiction/Freshly Squeezed.
I actually purchased PF a few months ago but now all the links I try are gone. I really like this program and can't wait to see your follow-up product.
