File Under ‘Nice to Have Two Optical Drives’

Two Optical DrivesIndeed, ripping at about 20 frames per second from two discs is nice indeed.

The HandBrake icon seen is from the latest beta, 0.8.5b1. It could still use some UI help, but it does its job well, so I can't complain that much.

It's my understanding that MediaFork was a fork of HandBrake when its development came to a halt, and now with 0.8.5b1, they've been merged back together. In other words, HandBrake is MediaFork is HandBrake.

    So yeah, use HandBrake.

Is HandBrake better than MacTheRipper? I've been using a combination of MTR and DVD2OneX to make backups of some of my DVDs to take away to work with me... Is this HandBrake app a better option?

They serve different purposes. HandBrake is a one-stop-shop (for most DVDs) to rip and encode into .mp4 video. MTR just rips and DVD2OneX can let you futz with fussy chapter markers, bad frames, etc.
