Pre-Ordering Leopard

I pre-ordered Leopard on June 20, 2007 at Amazon.com. Today when I saw the price had dropped to $109 from $129, I checked my pre-order. It still said $129 and that it would ship on November 1-3.

So I cancelled my long-standing pre-order and ordered again - at $109 and with shipping on or before October 31.

Have you pre-ordered Leopard?

  1. YUP! I pre-ordered it from Apple's website yesterday. I didn't realize it was $109 on Amazon though! Oh well. Apple had free shipping and it's supposed to arrive on Oct. 26th, so it was kind of an impulse rather than going TO the Apple store and standing in line. I can't wait to try it out!

  2. Ordered it from Apple store for 129 EUR, seems a little overpriced to me, but Apple continues to offer it's products in Europe with the same pricetag as the US versions (which makes them nearly 30% more expensive for us)

  3. I was under the impression that Amazon had a policy that if you preorder it at one price, and it drops before it ships, you get the new price? I saw that in reference to the Leopard preorder price, but maybe that's merely myth.

I thought that was the policy, too. Perhaps it takes longer than I gave it for the new price to populate to the older pre-orders. Either way, I figured I didn't want to needlessly risk spending an extra $20.

  5. I haven't pre-ordered. The campus store at my school (Portland State Univeristy) is charging $95 to students when they open on Saturday morning. So I won't be one of the first with it installed, but oh well.
