Microsoft Sync Crashes on Leopard

Since upgrading to Leopard, "Microsoft Sync" ((/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Microsoft Sync Services.app/Contents/MacOS/Microsoft Sync Services)) crashes like crazy. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens a few times per day. Full crash report in the extended entry (the next time it crashes, anyway).

Everything still seems to sync, but the darn thing just won't stop crashing. I'd prefer not to re-install because that would revert my entire copy of Office, and I don't want to have to re-install the 15 patches MS has put out in the past several years since Office: 2004's release.

Here's to hoping Office: 2008 fixes these problems.

  1. You don't have to install each patch individually, as I found out after doing it over and over, the ones over ~50mb are cumulative. So just pick the latest large one in the 11.3.x series and go nuts.

  2. This is typical Microsoft crap. These guys had months to prepare for leopard but didn't. The ongoing snarling and sticking it to each other between Apple and MS (Apple seem just as bad) leaves me, the user with one conclusion. EIther use all Apple or All MS. Not wanting to go with "Darth Vader", Apple is the only logical choice for me.

Can't wait to dump Etourage which was promising, but I'm sick of the crappy errors which leaves me frustrated and with a machine that is slow and almost useless

  3. I'm having the same issues too. I guess I'll have to turn of syncing until a fix comes out, hope that is soon.

This is from 2007, you know. The problem was fixed for me relatively quickly.

    1. I saw that after I posted. Started searching because started having this problem again under Snow Leopard, found some discussions on Apple support.
