Happy Birthday, Blog
Posted December 10th, 2008 @ 11:43am by Erik J. Barzeski
This blog is now officially six years old. I've posted every day in those six years. Some posts, like this one, were lame. Others were not.
My focus has shifted a few times through the years, but one thing has stayed the same: this blog is for and about me.
When did you start reading this site? Post in the comments. I'm curious.

It came as one of the default feeds in NewsFire way back in the early alpha/beta days, 2004 I think. Been reading it ever since 🙂

Well I didn't pay too much attention to any blogs per se until well after Safari added RSS support in v2 [yes I used Safari as my RSS reader until it got, well, "unmanageable"...but I was running early seeds of Tiger, so even the release date of Safari v2 doesn't help much.] I've moved to NNW since 🙂
IIRC NSLog was one of the first feeds I found interesting enough to follow, so I'd ballpark it at around early-to mid-2005?
It's an interesting question. I'd find it hard to answer about most of the feeds I follow.

hmm for me I think it's sometime in the last 6 months, a consequence of starting to follow various mac devs on Twitter and adding there blogs to GoggleReader.

Back when you donated a copy of MailDrop to my charity. 🙂

Back when I was doing WebObjects development, I came across something here that was useful. Thanks for the smiles!

I don't remember, but my first comment is from May 2003 (I'm not very consistent with the name I use, sometimes Olivier, sometimes Ölbaum, sometimes Olivier Scherler when I don't pay attention to autocomplete). I probably found it in NetNewsWire's default feeds too.

Looking back through my comments, I guess it was the Potato Chips article back in may that actually brought me commenting on your blog.
