Quantum of Solace: Double-Oh-Ugh

A few days ago I took in the new Bond flick and came away severely disappointed.
- Very little dialog or character development.
- No gadgets.
- Fast-paced, quick cuts that simply caused confusion. This was most evident during the many fight scenes, but was even evident when they were touching, tapping, and twirling things on a computer display.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that because of those things, this was the worst Bond movie ever.

Agreed. I was very glad that I saw this for free (wife's parents took us to see it over the Thanksgiving break.)

I don't understand why they're turning James Bond into an action hero. Sure it was breath of fresh air in the last movie, but it's not really who Bond is. And to have him playing Texas Holdem... This is Bond, not some cowboy from west Texas.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hated this (only went to see the trek trailer), This is not bond. This is generic Americanized british action hero. An utter travesty to attach the James Bond name to these new movies.

Just saw it last night. Relatively tragic waste of money, and if it wasn't for the catching up with friends, it would have been a waste of time as well.
Although, as I understand it, the last two Bond flix are supposed to be telling to story of "Bond in the beginning"...hence the reference in QoS of how _exactly_ one makes a Bond martini.
Could have been done a lot better though, so - agreed. It was teh suck.
