So Carey and I take our free Oprah KFC coupons. They tell us, reading a prepared statement, that "due to the overwhelming response" we'd have to come inside, fill out a form that they will mail in, and that coupons will then be mailed to us.
What a crock. More here.

Same exact thing here.
I think they are trying to make people jump through hoops because they know that many will not bother to fill out the form to get the free meal. In fact, I saw a few others just say 'never-mind' and buy a meal instead.

Furthermore, they had grilled chicken in stock. You could buy it, just not redeem the coupon. WTF?

Quiznos pulled the same thing with their million free subs promotion a few months back. I get to the store and they tell me I can have a dollar off. I never even bothered with this one, I knew it was going to be a hassle. How can they be surprised that a zillion people showed to get a free meal?? And why go ahead with it without buy in from your franchises. It just makes us all angry and damages the brand.

Yeah, I thought I'd written that one up too. They had a sign that said "due to Internet fraud, we will not honor the Million Free Subs promo…"
Carey and I vowed never to go to Quizno's again. Ever. We didn't commit fraud at all, and that's a cop-out. They didn't apologize or say "we'll give you half off, sorry, we'd really like you to try a sub."
So yeah, Quizno's lost at least two customers that day. And KFC likely has as well. Damages the brand is right.

I never received the raincheck in the mail after sending in the form. It's been like what 4 months now?
I will continue to boycott KFC until I receive my free meal as promised, which likely will be never so I will simply never eat there again.
Everyone should boycott KFC!
