Where is My Pebble?

I was in the first 20% of people to support the Pebble Kickstarter campaign. I chose a black and a white Pebble (one is a gift for a friend), and my address has been checked promptly as well.

I've voted, I've chosen colors quickly, etc.

So where in the heck are my Pebbles? Don't give me a goofy site. Tell me when mine ships ((Perhaps so I can sell it as it doesn't seem to have advanced much in terms of software since it was conceived…)).

  1. As soon as you get your Pebble, iWatch will be announced. Then things get interesting.

  2. My overly pessimistic guess at this point is that iWatch will be announced (and start shipping the next day) and only then will my Pebble ship.

What's got me concerned right now is the complete lack of information on the iOS SDK and how data flow will work. I have a bad feeling that they over promised and the Pebble iOS SDK will be extremely hampered and possibly unusable for anything that requires real-time communication to the watch. I've got a pretty good prototype application for sailing that grabs instrument data via Wifi from the NMEA / Wifi gateway on our sailboat. The app calculates some interesting data and I was hoping to have it displayed on the Pebble but this idea will be completely unworkable if my app has to send data out to a Pebble website for it then to be rerouted back to the official Pebble app on my iPhone and then to the watch.

      Mine shipped yesterday.

No kidding. I think they drastically overstated what's possible with iOS as well. I don't think they have the system-level access they need to do much more.

The watch may end up being a fancy and virtually useless toy. I don't feel bad about having supported the KickStarter project, but I am likely going to be disappointed.
