Is iOS still substantially more “user friendly” than OS X?

{democracy:94}

I'm not so sure anymore. It's certainly a bit easier to get into, but with double-tapping, swiping, and all sorts of hidden actions, I've seen new smartphone users get into some awfully weird predicaments, and just like with OS X or Windows, use their devices at a very small fraction of their potential.

  1. I loathe hidden UI elements and actions. This is one reason why I don't use Gmail, but there are many others.

    Also, on OS X I disable most of the trackpad motions because I can never remember them and because I would end up activating things I didn't mean to do.
