Trying Out Snap Previews

I'm trying out Snap Previews on this site. To see what they do, hover your mouse over a link. The previous one will do just fine. The Snap folks have a blog, too.

Huh, cool. Seems to work well in Camino 1.0.3 here, on an iBook G4.

I really like it but too bad we can't customize the look of it or remove some stuffs such as "?" ball or ad at bottom. I like to keep things clean.

Indeed. I'd be willing to pay a small bit of money for that feature. I'll probably leave this up until it starts to annoy me.

Somewhere between interesting and annoying. I think lengthening the delay and only having the previews for external links would help.

Yeah, it would be nice if you could apply a custom class to items you wanted to preview. I already have an "external link" custom class, after all - I could add it to that. Changing the time would be nice as well.

Actually, if you read the FAQ over at Snap - you can control the appear/don't appear behavior through custom classes. You can either have Snap show previews for all links by default, and then turn it off for certain links ... or not do anything by default and enable it for certain links.
I played with it on our site for a bit - ReviewHub.com - but found that unless I can control where the preview block appears (above/below, left/right), it stomps on my page text a bit too much right now. It'd also be nice if they offered a binoculars graphic you could place next to a link ... which would give the preview instead.
Will keep an eye on them for the future ...
