Question: Do you buy extended warranties?
My Answer: This question comes from Gizmodo. I answered "Rarely" because my wife and I bought the expensive extended warranty on our rear-projection LCD TV (60"). It has two bulbs that dim over time and will be replaced under the warranty. Shortly before the warranty expires, I'll call Circuit City [...]

Question: Do you have a Digg account? What features do you use?
My Answer: Only recently, yes. Thus far, I haven't used Digg except to "digg" one of my own articles to see how it works. Is there an RSS feed for each of the categories? Is that how most people use the site?

Question: Will the Wii fail with dedicated gamers?
My Answer: Some at slashdot seem to think so. I don't. I think, as one of the early posters said, that gamers want a break from the same-old. Combined with the new appeal the Wii will have with non-gamers (read: my wife and others like her), and I [...]

Question: What are your thoughts on iTunes 7?
My Answer: I like the new look, in general, though I wish I could condense some of the source list views with a disclosure triangle. Cover Flow view seems nice. The look takes some getting used to, but I suspect it's very Leopard-like. The "tabs" are a bit [...]

Question: Why does iTunes' video playback still suck?
My Answer: Heck if I know. I switch apps and the playback halts for a few seconds. The framerate is sometimes terrible. QuickTime Player can do the same thing without any problem, so why can't iTunes? I don't know.

Question: How will you spend your Labor Day?
My Answer: Watching golf, watching my wife paint, staining and varnishing, and cleaning up. I did electrical work earlier today to remove some track lighting and install some pendant lighting (I think that's what it's called). It was tough work, mainly because the wires weren't very long and [...]

Question: Which sock do you put on first? What pants leg?
My Answer: The left one, usually. I'm not sure one. I do, like most people, put them on one leg (or foot) at a time.

Question: Has anyone ever been as dominant in any other sport as Tiger Woods is in golf?
My Answer: I don't think so. The guy has a 30% winning percentage in the majors. Phil Mickelson is something like 3 for 58 (~5%). Jack Nicklaus was 18 for 159, or about 11.3% (though that number includes many [...]
