When the public bets one team in an NFL football game 70% or higher, they win only 42.8% of the time. And the higher the bets, the worse their losing percentage is. Bookies gamble too. You can consistently win money betting football games if you apply this knowledge.

9 On the Microwave

I found this xkcd cartoon hilarious. To enter in 1:30 I'll often (almost always) type "90." I also like multiples of nine, so I often type 36, 45, 54, or 63 instead of the more normal versions (30, 60). Sometimes I even put in 99 because it's more efficient - I don't have to move […]

Here are 21 ways!

So I'm going to the UK (Scotland) in a month or so and need a power adapter plug. I'll only be taking a few electronics - my MacBook Air (45W power brick, can take 240V) and maybe my battery charger for my camera. What should I get? I believe I can get away with just […]

Everything is a Remix

Here's the video on the TED site. P.S. I knew this was something I'd seen before. Duh. Here's the first of four parts on Vimeo.

Arguing Absent Reason

"To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead." - Thomas Paine, The Crisis

Underselling Your Urinal

How do you get 85% out of that? Don't regular toilets get, depending on your interpretation, something like 700% more water? This urinal: 1/8th of a gallon. Normal urinals: 8/8ths of a gallon. 85%?

Go us! Get it?

Cool. Also, here's a very good article on concussions as they relate to Crosby.

Evolution of Man

Two versions, same theme. I think I like the second one better (first one courtesy of Zero Drop). The second, well, it's on the wall here.

Levitating Slinky

Stanford Legacy Video

#leaveyourlegacy from Hooded Trees on Vimeo.

Wow. Apparently Amelia and her navigator were stranded on a small island for awhile, tried to survive, and ultimately perished. I wrote a report on Amelia when I was small (fifth grade perhaps?). I wonder if they'l find her bones.

Wish You Well

Katie Herzig has one of those unique voices that, with the right melody and song, seem to fit just perfectly.
