Ballmer a Clueless Dolt

Says Steve Ballmer, the man whose platform and OS ran Napster for quite a few years: iPod users are music thieves. We’ve had DRM in Windows for years. The most common format of music on an iPod is 'stolen'. To Ballmer: you're a friggin' idiot. Sit down and shaddup. Read more at silicon.com.

Cypress Creek

I played Cypress Creek today, a golf course with an incredibly lame website. The course is just north of Boynton Beach Boulevard on Military Trail. Today was a business meeting as well as a chance to see if I was still playing well. The meeting went well, and I played fairly well too.

RIP Justin Strzelczyk

Former Pittsburgh Steeler Justin Strzelczyk died after being thrown from his pickup truck after a crash with a hazardous materials tanker truck on I-90 in NY. He had led police on a 37-mile high-speed chase, thrown a beer bottle at them, and crossed the center line. The driver of the tanker was released without injury. […]

I've finally gotten around to updating my favorite AppleScript for BBEdit so that it works properly with BBEdit 8's "tabbed" windows: set filepath to "" tell application "BBEdit"     set thisFile to (active document of front window)     save thisFile     set filepath to file of thisFile end tell tell application "FTPeel"     open filepath end tell

QotD: AIM Icon

Question: What's your AIM icon (iChat, Adium, whatever you use)? My Answer: Currently it's a part of a golf ball. However, I'll soon be changing it to something else. Previously it was part of the Project Builder icon. You are encouraged to answer the Question of the Day for yourself in the comments or on […]

PGA Village: Dye Course

One of my goals before leaving Florida was to play a few of the more exceptional courses in the area. To that end, today I went to PGA Village in Port St. Lucie to play the Dye course. José, Gabe, and Rob filled out the foursome and the weather cooperated. You can see some images […]

QotD: Design

Question: If you could design anything, what would it be and why? My Answer: I'd design a golf course, because courses are beautiful, they bring enjoyment to people's lives and preserve green spaces, and almost nothing else can be "used" so differently by so many different kinds of people. When you answer, please consider only […]

Golf Bonaventure

I was bored yesterday and didn't feel like doing work, so I ducked out at 2 and arrived at 3 to play the East course at Bonaventure Country Club. At 6519 yards from the whites (and 7001 from the blues), the course was in a mucky, muddy condition. None of my drives rolled at all, […]

TypeKey Entries

For some reason, comments from people who log in via TypeKey are not showing as TypeKey comments. I'm not sure what the deal is there, but I'm going to upgrade this blog from MT 3.0.1D to MT 3.1.1 now. Templates and the display of this site may be screwy for awhile. We shall see…

QotD: Debate

Question: Who won the debate, and why? My Answer: I didn't watch too much, but I caught pieces here and there. Kerry kept saying "I'll do better" and Bush kept saying "uhhh" when pausing for words. Bush won, 53% to 47%, only because Kerry can say he has a plan all he wants, but it […]
