For some reason, some - but not all - of the comments in this blog's feed are set to 1969. What's up with that? I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this issue. http://nslog.com/comments/feed Update: When I de-activate this plugin, the problem goes away. Kind of makes sense. I'll contact the plugin author.

It's an ad, but I still like it. 🙂 This win keeps feeling better and better with each passing hour. I care more about hockey (probably because I play hockey) than the Steelers, and the Penguins have faced more adversity in the past few years.

Went flawlessly. I think. Knock on wood and all that. And this bug from WordPress 2.1.2 is fixed, eliminating the need for this plugin. The way widgets have gone, I really should look at re-doing the sidebar on this blog to use widgets. They'd all be of my own creation, but the benefits at this […]

Went to a cow farm today with an "explorers" group. I was surprised by one thing: how skittish cows are of people. They don't like to be petted, though the few that did seemed to enjoy it. And cows will sniff your hand just like a dog. But their noses have a whole lot more […]

The takeaway seems to be, for me, a matter of keeping my right hand in what feels like an almost "underneath" position ((In reality it's where it should be - neither strong nor weak.)), with my right elbow pointed back at my hip, and keeping that right elbow close to my body throughout the swing. […]

What a tournament. I'll eventually get around to editing my pictures, but here's one of the winner.

Here's an image - ISO 200, 1/250, f/5.6, IS on, monopod ((Regardless, there may still be a little camera shake, but it should be pretty minimal.)) - with the 300mm f/2.8L IS lens and the Canon 2x extender. Like I said before: suitable for the web, but I'm not sure you're going to want to […]

I'm once again attending the 2009 Memorial Tournament. I'm looking forward to trying out my 300mm f/2.8 lens with the 2x extender. Results last year with the 1.4x were quite good, and though I'm not expecting tack-sharp shots with the 2x, I think they should be more than good enough for web-based publication. With two […]

If you sign up for Dropbox (which I recommend you do), please feel free to use this link. I'm told I can get up to another 3 GB of free space if enough people do.

This article mentions Rivet: People have often asked me why I don’t have an Apple TV, and the simple answer is because I don’t need one. I have an Xbox 360, and it can serve up digital photos, video, and audio from networked Macs using software like… Rivet from Cynical Peak Software. (I use similar […]
